The third book in the Munro saga, begun with Turn of the Tide and continued in A House Divided, is now finished, edited, and in the process of being prepared for publication. This week’s fantabulous news is that I have found someone with a genuine late 16th c Borders basket-hilt sword and he is kindly going to produce a high res image for me – so I can use it on my book cover of next book. (These swords are pretty rare and I wanted the right sword for the era / context.)
Awarded an Hawthornden International Fellowship 2016 – a month of dedicated writing time in Hawthornden Castle, Scotland. Here’s a news clipping announcing the award.
I’m hugely honoured to have been chosen as a recipient of one of these prestigious awards and am looking forward to going to Hawthornden in mid-February.
The eagerly-awaited
– sequel to Turn of the Tide was published on 15th October 2015 by my own new imprint Sanderling Books. Long-listed for the Historical Novel Society New Novel Award 2016.
